The U17s have retained the Parramore cup after a nine-wicket win against Norton Oakes. Using his best sporting cliches, Steelo commented: 'Reece Shutt got the man of the match award for his fantastic 5-for and we won with a great team performance. The boys done good.'

Barnsley: 52-2 12.3 overs (Widdup 28; R Shutt 1-14)

  • Saturday saw Barnsley defeat visitors Sheffield Collegiate by five wickets.
  • Collegiate batted first and were skittled for 105 with only McKenna (30), Watson (11) and Wall (10) reaching double figures. Glen Yates claimed 5-21 for Barnsley while Joe Ellis picked up a pair of scalps.
  • Despite the best efforts of Nayager (3-39) and Khan (2-26), Barnsley attained victory after just 27.3 overs.
  • Simon Widdup leads the side's batting by a country mile; he has accrued a total of 1266 runs at an average of 50.6. Widdup's best score of the season is an unbeaten 146 against Doncaster Town.
  • Richard Wilkinson sits third in the list of YPL wicket takers with 51 scalps; in fourth is Wilkinson's teammate, Joe Ellis, with 47 wickets.
  • In all competitions, however, Ellis leads Wilkinson by 62 wickets to 58.

Rotherham Phoenix CC 3rd XI (8th) vs SUCC 3rd XI (6th)

Last meeting: SUCC won by 161 runs.
SUCC: 250-6 (Aftab 101, Turner 40*; Linney 4-21)
Rotherham Phoenix: 89 all out (Fletcher 28; Marshall 3-17, Hobbs 2-6)

  • Rotherham Phoenix's last game resulted in a heavy victory over guests Greenhill.
  • The hosts opened up and made 204-6; Steve Moore top scored with 94 while runs also came from Fletcher (37) and Sorsby (38*).
  • In reply, only Ryder (21) and Jenkins (20) made double figures as Greenhill were bowled out for just 70 runs. Phoenix shared the wickets between Kamal (3-5), Dodds (2-9), Judge (2-16) and Green (1-37).
  • Ian Fletcher tops the team's batting with 313 runs and a best knock of 49 versus Bawtry.
  • The bowling effort is led by David Judge with 34 wickets and a remarkable best return of 9-79 against Wath.

Castleford CC 1st XI (4th) vs SUCC 1st XI (12th)  
Last meeting: Castleford complete win by three wickets.
SUCC: 98 all out (Rodgers 25; Romaniw 5-38, Wainwright 2-5)
Castleford: 102-7 37.3 overs (Chadwick 20; R Shutt 3-18, Knight 2-15)

  • Monday saw Castleford defeat visitors Sheffield Collegiate by 18 runs.
  • The home side batted first and totalled 172 all out from 55 overs. Shaun Le Roux (34) top scored while Nadeem Khan claimed 5-40 for Collegiate.
  • Khan was also on form with the bat, top scoring with a stubborn 44 not out as the side were dismissed for 154. For Castleford, Chris Young was rewarded for 23 overs of work with 5-63 and William Hodson grabbed 3-47.
  • Andrew Chadwick is Castleford's leading scorer with 437 runs and a best knock of 57 against Hull.
  • The bowling department is topped by John Randerson with 44 wickets to his name and a best return of 5-61 -- also versus Hull.

SUCC 2nd XI (7th) vs Treeton CC 2nd XI (4th)
Last meeting: Treeton won by nine wickets.
SUCC: 170 all out (Johnson 69*; G Barnes 4-39, Haddock 3-47)
Treeton: 172-1 27.1 overs (P Barnes 86*, Coleman 66*)

  • Treeton fell to an eight-wicket defeat at home to Warmsworth last weekend.
  • The home team opened-up and made 200-8; George Barnes (56) top scoring while runs also came from Hardy (46) and Morris (39). For Warmsworth, Neil Wolsey led with 4-51 followed by Andy Matthews' return of 2-53.
  • After a shaky start that saw Warmsworth on 17-1, Marshall (51) and Bardney (105*) added 114 for the second wicket. Following Marshall's dismissal, Bardney was joined by Davidson (26*) to finish the game. For Treeton, Manny Mudhar and George Barnes took a wicket apiece.
  • George Barnes leads Treeton's batting with 519 runs and a highest score of 68 -- his average is 39.92.
  • With 28 wickets, Craig Beaumont leads Mick Fairman by just one scalp. Beaumont's best return of 6-37 came against Coal Aston in May.

Last meeting: SUCC won by 71 runs
SUCC: 184-6 (Wade 77, Turner 51; Nazir 3-28)
Totley: 113 all out (Morris 27*; Roberts 4-21, Turner 3-18)

  • Last time out, Totley were defeated by five wickets at home to Bullcroft Main.
  • The scorecard is a bit wonky, but the only innings of note for Totley was Gary Birks' unbeaten 31. The side made around 50-7 from 25 overs, with Birkett (4-17) and Vickerage (3-27) doing the damage for Bullcroft Main.
  • Mohammed Zulfiqar (3-27) struck early to leave Bullcroft Main on 26-4 at one stage, but the side recovered to reach the winning total with five wickets in hand.
  • Gary Birks is Totley's heaviest scorer with 369 runs so far and a best knock of 73 not out against Greenhill.
  • Mark Birks is the team's most potent bowler with 29 wickets and a top return of 7-17 versus Darfield.

SUCC 1st XI (12th) vs York CC 1st XI (1st)
Last meeting: York complete win by ten wickets.
SUCC: 182 all out (Garratt 54, Milburn 34; Hulme 7-50)
York: 184-0 21.4 overs (Wilson 121*, Hulme 53*)

  • York beat visitors Driffield Town by six wickets last weekend.
  • Batting first, Driffield were dismissed for 119 with stubborn resistance coming from opener Will Norman (68). Tom Bartram was York's pick of the bowling, taking 6-40.
  • In reply, Dan Wilson continued his fine form with an unbeaten 73 as York cruised home after just twenty overs. Ollie Ezard still found time, however, to claim 3-37 for Driffield.
  • Dan Wilson -- with 1369 league runs -- is the YPL's leading scorer. There is a 370-run gap between Wilson and second-placed Andy Simpson. Wilson's highest score of the season is an unbeaten 201 versus Rotherham Town and his average stands at 80.53.
  • York have two more batsmen who have reached the 1000-run plateau in Simon Mason (1255 runs) and Duncan Snell (1073).
  • Daniel Woods is the side's leading bowler with 51 wickets to date and a best return of 7-38 against Hull.

  • Oughtibridge suffered an eight-wicket defeat away at Warmsworth last weekend.
  • The visitors batted first and made 152 all out; Oliver Turner top scoring with a knock of 70. Warmsworth's bowling attack was led by Horsfield (3-27) and Matthews (3-47).
  • Warmsworth lost only two wickets in reply as they raced to victory in 30 overs -- opener Liam Marshall leading the way with an unbeaten 58.
  • John Grayson tops Oughtibridge's batting with 525 runs, an average of 43.75 and a best knock of 78 not out.
  • The bowling department is led by Adam Broughton who has taken 22 wickets with a top return of 5-29.

Last meeting: SUCC won by 128 runs.

Bawtry: 84 all out (Miller 34; Law 4-20, Marshall 2-9)

  • Bawtry beat visitors Handsworth WMC by four wickets on Saturday.
  • Handsworth opened-up and made 160 all out with Russell Starkes (27*) top scoring. Lee Brookes helped himself to 6-63 for the hosts.
  • Bawtry opener Felix Odell provided the fulcrum of the side's response, making 73 not out as the team reached victory.
  • Odell is the league's leading run scorer with 889 runs and has recorded a highest score of 150 not out. In all competitions, Odell has totalled 1142 runs this year.
  • Lee Brookes is the side's most prolific bowler with 31 scalps to his credit and a best return of 6-63 in the above-mentioned game.

Scarborough CC 1st XI (2nd) vs SUCC 1st XI (12th) - Monday
Last meeting: Scarborough complete win by five wickets.
SUCC: 98 all out (Hirst 31; Lyth 4-23, Rinke 4-41)
Scarborough: 99-5 (Harland 44; Khan 3-18)

  • Scarborough were winners by nine wickets in a high-scoring game at Appleby Frodingham last weekend.
  • The hosts made 231-8 from their innings -- opener Duncan Heath top scoring with a knock of 84. Scarborough shared the spoils between Ashley Lyth (4-86) and Piet Rinke (3-58) -- a run out accounted for the remaining wicket.
  • Scarborough were never in trouble as they stormed to victory for the loss of only one wicket. Adam Lyth (80) was the man out, the job being finished by Harland (86*) and Bansil (46*).
  • The team have two batsmen with over 700-runs to their credit -- Kunwar Bansil (744) and Darren Harland (737).
  • Scarborough also boast a potent bowling attack led by Piet Rinke with 44 wickets. Just behind is Simon Tennant with 42 scalps followed by James Finch (39) and Ashley Lyth (35).
